This project was an assignment for my Design Studio III class where I had to devise a campaign for a company that partners with a good cause. The businesses I chose for this assignment are Wendy's and the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
Many places do a toy drive around Christmas, but foster kids can enter the system anytime. Wendy’s believes in supporting the Dave Thomas Foundation of Adoption all year. The “Make A Biggie Difference” campaign runs from May 1st to May 31st to support National Foster Care Month. In September and October, customers can purchase Boo Books. From November through January customers can purchase Frosty Key Tags. However, there is not currently a fundraiser for the summer.
To support the kids who enter the system during the non-holiday season I designed a Christmas in July campaign for Wendy’s. This would be a toy and necessities drive with drop-off boxes at various Wendy's locations. During this time Wendy's would also sell a peppermint frosty and have a portion of frosty sales go to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
The first thing I did for the campaign was design a new logo representing the collaboration of Wendy's and the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
I then designed the boxes that would be used to collect the toys along with posters and mock-ups. I also designed a billboard and social media posts.
